A CHANGE OF PLANS
*BY*
*DONNA K. WEAVER*
BLURB:
When twenty-five-year-old Lyn sets off on her cruise
vacation, all she wants is to forget that her dead fiancé was a cheating
scumbag. What she plans is a diversion uncomplicated by romance. What
she gets is Braedon, an intriguing young surgeon. He's everything her
fiancé wasn't, and against the backdrop of the ship's make-believe
world, her emotions come alive.
Unaware of the sensitive waters he navigates, Braedon moves to take their relationship beyond friendship—on the very anniversary Lyn came on the cruise to forget. Lyn's painful memories are too powerful, and she runs off in a panic.
But it's hard to get away from someone when you're stuck on the same
ship. Things are bad enough when the pair finds themselves on one of the
cruise's snorkeling excursions. Then paradise turns to piracy when
their party is kidnapped, and Lyn's fear of a fairy tale turns grim.
REVIEW:
A Change Of Plans was a sweet romance wrapped up in a dangerous adventure.
Lyn and her best friend take a cruise on the anniversary of her fiance's
death. Lyn is still shocked, and scarred by his betrayal, and the
circumstances of his death. She doesn't believe she will ever be able to
trust again.
On the cruise Lyn meets Braedon, and is immediately attracted to him.
Afraid of her feelings, and thinking that it couldn't be anything more
then a shipboard fling. Lyn tries to run from him. Too bad she's on a
ship, so she can't run too far.
Throw in being kidnapped by pirates, and stranded on a uninhabited
island. What's a poor girl to do? Luckily Lyn has Braedon by her side,
and she learns that she can do anything.
I really enjoyed this book. It's been a while since I've had the
opportunity to read a straight up contemporary romance. A Change Of
Plans didn't disappoint.
I felt like I was right there with Lyn & Braedon struggling to
survive. It was like a movie being played out in my mind. I thought the
characters were very resourceful, and easy to identify with. The romance
and situation was believable.
All in all, it was a exciting, and refreshing romance to read.
