Over a remote northern forest, a small plane carrying five teenage friends flies into a freak storm. Struck by lightning, the aircraft crashes and the passengers find themselves cast into a life-changing adventure.

In a hidden valley, a mysterious people gaze at the stormy sky as a glowing object with fiery wings disappears behind a mountain ridge. The astonishing sight reignites an ancient prophecy foretelling the arrival of five chosen ones destined to become bearers of light against a dark storm gathering on humanity's horizon.

In a distant city, a secretive organization led by a shadowy figure initiates a sequence of cataclysmic events designed to wreak havoc across the planet, beginning with a remote mining site in northern Canada.

As the three worlds collide, unlikely heroes arise. Armed with powers entrusted to them by the ancient prophecy and the resilience of their life-long bond, the five teens take a stand against a malevolent foe.
REVIEW:  "Astonishingly imaginative and thoughtful. Aegis Rising sets a festive narrative table and makes the reader eagerly anticipate a sequel."

“That spot’s too small for this plane!” Kody pointed out urgently.

Six pairs of eyes frantically scanned the surroundings below.

“Aw, man!” Jag exclaimed. “The fire’s spreading in along the wing!” That was followed by another shout from the cockpit. “We’re losing airspeed! We have to land immediat—”

He was cut off by a loud blast. The right engine cowling burst apart. The plane was now trailing smoke and flame over the forest, no more than a thousand feet above the tree-tops. Like an injured dragon, the red Comanche bucked and twisted over alpine firs that punctuated the landscape.
About the Author:

S.S.Segran spent a good chunk of her childhood exploring the enchanted forest of a million tales in the mystical land of books. In her early teens, she began crafting intriguing new worlds and conjuring up characters who came alive with the flick of her wand... err... pen. With the publication of Aegis Rising in her senior year of high school, she was surprised by the abundance of time that magically appeared right after graduation. She plans to use this newfound resource to expand the arc of the Aegis Series. Her future plans include studying Cognitive Science at university and helping youths in developing countries realize their potential through the non-profit organization, Aegis League (www.aegisleague.org)

When not devouring a book or writing one, S.S.Segran can be found standing behind the cauldron of life, stirring a potion made up of chores, parkour, gaming, drawing, horseback riding and—having recently jumped off a perfectly fine airplane at fifteen thousand feet – perhaps skydiving.

Blood Prince Series
Sensual Fantasy Romance

Date Published: February 2014

"What demon doesn't dream of climbing the Golden Stair?"

Ivy has lived in a tower, locked away from the rest of the world, for her entire life. Her mother, a witch who leads the resistance against the bloodthirsty kings of the five kingdoms, is her only company. Ivy knows that her battle-weary mother relies on the golden power flowing through her veins for the energy to continue the good fight, but she can’t completely smother the selfish yearning to see the world beyond the safety of their hidden valley. When the demon prince of her mother’s horror stories literally crashes into Ivy's life, she finds herself facing her wildest dream…and her mother’s worst nightmare.

Adonis is a demon determined to bury his desire for love in the pleasures of the flesh. Bound by a vow to maintain his physical form, Adonis requires a great deal of energy just to live, energy he can only absorb through the carnal arts…more energy than any one woman could ever provide. Adonis knows he could never offer a woman the fidelity she would deserve as his wife, and so carries on with his wild ways, his cryptic smile hidden behind a puff of smoke. No woman can reach beyond the heat of his embrace to touch his heart. Not even the golden haired maid whose lonely eyes keep wooing him back to her side.

An incubus can only deny his nature for so long. Long golden hair. A tower with no stairs. A witch with serious possession issues. Debilitating blindness. None of these are enough to keep a demon from climbing…the Golden Stair.

Ivy clenched her hands into fists, nails digging into her palms. “Do not mock me,” she ground out. “I don’t know how you found this place, but if I were you, I’d be thinking about what’s going to happen to you now that you’re here.”

Adonis waved, brushing aside her threat. “If you were going to kill me, you would have done it already. Obviously you want me around for some other reason.” He rolled onto his back, reached his arms over his head, and stretched like a lazy tomcat, bowing his naked body out slightly.

Ivy cursed herself for zeroing in on the muscular planes of his chest, following the faint dusting of hair down the sculpted lines of his stomach…and lower. Heat burned her cheeks, and this time it had nothing to do with the sun—magic or otherwise. She sputtered for a moment before she could make her voice work.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” she groused finally. “Do you really think you can manipulate me that easily? You think you can just wave your—” The burn in her cheeks grew hotter and she clenched her teeth as Adonis raised his head, staring at her with renewed interest.

“Go ahead, you can say it,” he teased.

“It’s not too late for me to throw you over the balcony,” she growled out through gritted teeth.

“I’ll bet you couldn’t even drag me to the balcony,” Adonis retorted.
