AWAKENING COLORS
BY
RITU K. GUPTA
Synopsis:
Read this fascinating story that weaves together current times with ancient mythologies. Set in modern day Toronto, this book is an exciting story of adventures that evolve across material worlds into illusions and beyond.
Using his powers to reach into the world of illusions, ArcheLasarre is able to change destinies. The power of his manipulations threatens all three worlds: the material, the illusionary and the timeless.
Visions of constantly changing destinies and futures depicted in vibrant colors - this is what Pari sees. Mystified and confused, Pari initially hides her visions from others. She dismisses them as hallucinations.
Guided by scrolls left to her by the spiritual master Chanakya, Pari needs to discover her powers and define her own destiny. Will she be seduced by the lure of Arche's power of illusions? Will she choose her own path? What will Pari do?
Awakening Excerp:
Arche felt the disturbance.
It’s not as though that world was quiet and still like a deep pond,
where a single pebble drop would create ripples that flowed outwards touching
the solid edges that repelled them back, distorting the reflections that were
otherwise still. Those distortions skewed the reflected reality, and so one was
forced to either ignore reality or acknowledge the disturbance. No – it was not
like that. It was actually the reverse.
The whole world was a big disturbance. It was a
like a churning ocean in constant motion. Waves of desires flowed in. Tides
rose and fell constantly. A single pebble dropped in that ocean would have no
impact. It would be tossed around, sink to its weight, succumb to the pull of
tide till it crested high on the breaking surf to smash itself into grains of
sand, pulled in and pushed out, sucked in and thrown out – all on the
whims of the tides that churned it to its will.
So no – the disturbance was not a
pebble. Not something that insignificant.
He sensed the disturbance because it was the reverse.
Like a collective inhale...and then no exhale. A stillness. It was the reverse
of the disturbance. It was the stillness that disturbed him.
He closed his eyes and shut out the mortal world.
He sensed deeper that he ever could because of the stillness. The oceanic
turbulence that he normally encountered blocked him – stopped him – ground him
up and tossed him out. He was the pebble. And today he was the pebble that
could skim on the surface of that stillness. He could skid along, farther and
farther, till he sank. And then he could sink deeper that he knew. It was the
stillness. It disturbed him. It scared him. But it also intrigued him.
“What has happened?” he whispered into the dark
depths.
“She has looked in,” it whispered back.
He groped in the darkness, unsure of what it was
she saw when she looked in and whether she remembered any of it. But he knew
what it meant.
It shocked
him. The shock made his eyelids flutter. Light crashed in and expelled him from
that blind world in a blink.
