It's Thursday... What are you reading?

Hi All,

It's Thursday, and I want to know what everyone is reading. I have been reading a lot lately, and I've been adding books to my ridiculously long TBR pile. The best thing, and the worst thing about me belonging to all those yahoo groups is, all the new release post that goes up on Tuesdays. I see all the pretty covers, and get caught up in the excerpts. The next thing I know, I'm hitting the one click button on Amazon, or checking out at MBAM. I'm spending money on books like crazy, and going way over my book budget. I'm helpless to stop it. *sigh* It's OK.. I love to read, so it's justified. OK, back to the subject of this post.

This is what I'm reading...

The YearningThe Yearning by Tina Donahue

Blurb:

To break this curse, they’ll have to turn the heat up. Way up.

Jasmine Dante prowls Key West’s nightlife, fighting a losing battle against a jealous rival’s curse that forces her to seek carnal pleasure, no matter the danger. Weakened from lack of sleep, driven by insatiable lust, she spots a man who stirs her desperate craving, and begins yet another dance of seduction.

Except the dark stranger who returns her direct stare is no ordinary lover. Inside his powerful body lies a raw sexuality that just might be enough to break her curse. There’s only one way to find out: imprison him in her bed and feed on his passion.

Former U.S. Marshal Mike Stearn is many things, but he’s no woman’s sex slave. The deadly telekinetic power he ruthlessly suppresses comes alive again at Jasmine’s touch. Beneath her bold, potent sensuality he senses vulnerability and desperation. He may be in handcuffs, but she’s the one who’s enslaved.

As Mike resurrects his power to free himself so he can find the curse’s source and defeat it, Jasmine revels in his masterful rule. Her ravenous yearning evolves into rapture as she surrenders to his hunger, her darkest needs—and the emotional connection that lies beyond. Unless the curse takes her life first…

Warning: Tons of steamy sex, smoldering passion and a to-die-for love story with a hot Alpha hero who finds himself imprisoned by one sultry and desperate babe.

I read Tina's book Sensual Stranger and LOVED it. I have heard nothing but great things about this book, and I'm looking forward to finishing it. I will definitely be back with a review.

I am also reading..

Colters' Daughter: Colters' Legacy, Book 3 Colter's Daughter by Maya Banks

Blurb:

He let her go once. This time he’s playing for keeps.

Colters’ Legacy, Book 3

Callie Colter once chased sunsets all over the world. Until Max. Together they were a perfect storm of desire, and she reveled in the beautiful power. Then he disappeared without a word, and the betrayal drove her home to lick her wounds.

Who knew he’d have the gall to show his face in her brother’s bar.

Max Wilder figures he deserves Callie’s right hook to the jaw, but it changes nothing. He had his reasons for pursuing her across Europe, for making her fall in love with him. But when she took everything he gave and offered more, she changed all the rules. He had no choice leaving her, but he’s back. This time for the right reasons.

Callie is angry and hurt, yet powerless against Max’s relentless onslaught. He’ll settle for nothing less than her complete surrender—and her love. Only when she’s back in his arms will he be truly happy. And the damning truth can stay safely tucked away.

Except the truth has a way of creeping to the surface, and Max may just be out of second chances.

Warning: This title contains adult language, explicit sex, rough sex, anal sex. In other words...sex! Also contains themes of D/s which might offend some readers. Lots of angst, emotion and betrayal. Second chances and lots of warm fuzzies.

I love this series, and I have been looking forward to this book. Big SHOUT OUT to Maya Banks for hitting the New York Times Best seller list with this book.

Well... That's My Rundown.

It's Thursday... What are you reading?

Hello All,

Well.. It's Thursday again, and you know what that means. It's time for me to give you my weekly reading rundown, and for me to find out what all of you are reading. I have to admit, I didn't buy any new books this week, because I couldn't justify it. I really splurged last week on books, and I have been quite lucky in winning books lately. Let me tell you.. It was HARD for me not to hit that one click button on Amazon, but I was strong. I'm making no promises about next week though. I have so many books to read that I'm considering a challenge for myself, so that I can get through them all. My Catering business has been really keeping me busy lately, but this is the time of year when things slow down before the holidays. Hopefully I will have the time then to get through them all. OK... Enough with my rambling, this is what I'm reading this week.

Mercy Mercy by Eleri Stone

Description (From Publishers Website)

To the Yaguara, an ancient jaguar shape-shifting people living deep in the Amazon jungle, nothing matters more than strength. Iada is their champion; genetically pure, she has been trained since birth to fight. Her destiny is to become the next Queen of the Yaguara by winning the tournament of succession—a battle to the death.

Her opponent is Gabriel, a half-blooded outcast whose mother was human. To everyone's shock, he defeats Iada but does not strike the death blow—instead, he extends mercy, thereby claiming her as his mate.

Despite their enmity, the attraction between them is powerful, and soon they are mates in more than name only. Their mutual distrust serves only to fuel their passion—two champions bested only by their overpowering desire for each other.

But Gabriel has an agenda that threatens the most basic tenets of Yaguara society—and that will force Iada to choose between her people or her King.

I have heard nothing but good things about this Novella. I didn't read any reviews, because I haven't read it yet, but I did notice all the 4 and 5 star ratings. I am excited to be reading this, and I can't wait to share my thoughts on Mercy with you.

 Demon's Fall by Karalynn Lee

Description (From Publishers Website)

She was an angel at the gates of Hell.

When Kenan, an incubus, finds a caged angel for sale in the Hellsgate marketplace, he sees her as a challenge. Certain that his skills in seduction will work as well on a heavenly creature as they do on mortal women, he buys Jahel, intent on having her soul as a novelty in his collection.

Knowing he must gain Jahel's trust if she is to come to his bed willingly, Kenan treats her more as his guest than as his slave. When she reveals what brought her to the mouth of Hell in the first place—retrieving the soul of a young girl she was guarding—he even offers to help her complete her mission.

Though he has promised Jahel freedom, Kenan soon realizes she has captured his heart instead. And as their passion for one another grows, they find themselves caught in a struggle between Heaven and Hell, one that will lead them to the very edge of the apocalypse...

This book isn't scheduled for release until Oct. 25. Thanks to Netgalley, and the awesome people at Carina Press, I was given the opportunity to read it now, and it's really good. I'm hoping to finish it today. This is the first book I have read by Karalynn Lee, and I'm not dissapointed.

Well... That's my rundown.

About "NyteBeauti"

The epic journey of one woman's search for identity, belonging, and love.

When Desta awakens each evening, all she knows is that unquenchable hunger, and a familiar pair of gray eyes. Aside from that, she doesn't remember anything... yet.

It doesn't take long, before she finds herself thrust into the adventure of a lifetime (or several, as the case may be) as she dodges danger, experiences heartbreak, and ultimately, discovers herself, and true love.

What are you reading? I would love to know...

If you haven't had a chance yet, please enter my follower appreciation giveaway. Just click here or on the link at the top left sidebar to enter. Good Luck!

This week was little crazy for me, I recently moved and I'm currently playing catch up. So.. since I missed out on Thursday's what are you reading post, I decided to do it today.

I'm currently reading two books this week. I know I previously said I don't like to read two books at once, because I don't feel like I'm giving each book it's proper respect. The reason I felt that way is, I am the type of reader who gets swept away with a book. When I sit down to read everything else drops away, and I am transported to whatever land, circumstances, or situation my characters are experiencing. I know a book is good when I feel like I have experienced every emotion the characters in the book are going through like I was right there with them. In the past if I tried to read two books, I would stop and just concentrate on one of them, because it felt like I was cheating on the other book. Silly, I know but that's how I felt.

Well... As you can probably guess by now, I have had to re-evaluate my personal policy. I have learned that if you want to do what I do, you have to make sacrifices. I also realized that I wasn't really making a sacrifice, it's just time management. I now know that I can still experience the same things that I get from reading just one book, as easily when I'm reading two. I just focus wholly on whatever book I'm reading at the time, and vice verse with the other book. Well... There you have it, I'm a believer.

This is what I'm reading now....

Kiss Of A Demon King (Immortals After Dark, Book 7)Kiss Of A Demon King (Immortals After Dark, Book 7)

From the back of the book...

HIS OBSESSION...

Sabine, Sorceress of Illusions: the evil beauty who surrenders her body, but not her heart.

HER DOWNFALL...

Rydstrom Woede: the ruthless warrior who vows to keep her at all costs.

THEY WERE NEVER SUPPOSED TO WANT EACH OTHER THIS MUCH...

With each smoldering encounter, their shared hunger only increases. If they can defeat the sinister enemy that stands between them, will Sabine make the ultimate sacrifice for her demon? Or will the proud king lay down his crown and arms to save his sorceress?

I am on page 88 of Kiss Of A Demon King. I am so loving the IAD series!

I am also reading..

Ecstasy: The ShadowdwellersEcstasy: The Shadowdwellers

From the back of the book...

Among the Shadow dwellers, Trace holds power that some as willing to kill for. Without a stranger's aid, one rival would surely have succeeded, but Trace's brush with death is less surprising to him than his reaction to the beautiful, fragile human who heals him. By rights, Trace should hardly even register Ashla's existence within the realms of Shadow scape, but instead he is drawn to everything about her - her innocence, her courage, and her lush, sensual heat. After a terrifying car crash, Ashla Townsend wakes up to find that the bustling New York she knew is now eerie and desolate. Just when she's convinced she's alone, Ashla is confronted by a dark warrior who draws her deeper into a world she never knew existed. The bond between Ashla and Trace is a mystery to both, but searching for answers will mean confronting long-hidden secrets, and uncovering a threat that could destroy everything Trace holds precious.

I am only on page 31 of Ecstasy. This is the first book in Jacquelyn Frank's Shadowdwellers series. I loved her Nightwalker series, and I am thinking I will feel the same way about this series.

Reviews will follow upon my completion of these two fantastic books.

So.. That's my run down...
