Virtual Book Review Tour & Giveaway: Redemption For The Hypnotist by Hypnotic Dreams

REDEMPTION FOR THE HYPNOTIST
By
Hypnotic Dreams

BLURB:
A demonstration of erotic hypnosis leads to two relationships, one inspiring and creative, the other abusive and destructive.
Darren Braid was a respected psychology professor until a student accused him of trying to hypnotize her into sexual slavery. The accusation was recanted, but the university dismissed him anyway. Feeling betrayed, Darren retreated into seclusion. But the FBI believes that his exceptional skill with hypnosis and his tainted personal history make him the perfect undercover agent to infiltrate a sex slavery ring.
Latoya Douglas works for the studio that’s fronting the slavery ring. She is a beautiful black woman and one of L.A.’s hottest rap producers. Latoya will do almost anything to support her artists. She decides to 'manage' Darren, and remake him into an evil mind-controlling genius. She becomes his lover and muse. She inspires and helps Darren produce a hypnosis program to make women eager for sex with her rappers, and she helps find women to test the program. After three years of solitude, Darren finds the relationship more inspiring and rewarding than anything he imagined. But he doesn’t know if he can trust her. Is she part of the slavery ring, or trying to find her missing sister?
Marisa Martinez is a hotheaded young FBI agent. She asks Darren to hypnotize her to act submissive and obedient so she can get close to the slavers. But the hypnotic programming works too well. Marisa is in danger of losing herself to the submissive role and becoming a mindless sex toy. Can Darren restore her mind before she’s actually sold into sexual slavery?

REVIEW:
This story was a quick but interesting read.
Professor Darren Braid is a hypnotist with the power to hypnotize women into being sexually aggressive, and wanting. He does this by having women listen to his tapes called Hypnotically Seduced. It doesn't hurt that he's a ex behavior modification specialist, and is now making his living by doing this.
Enter Lamar Breaux, he is the owner of  Luv Bandit Muzik. Lamar wants to hire Darren and use him and his skills for something special he's involved in. The kind of man that he is, he won't take Darren on until he has a demonstration of what he proclaims he can do.

That's where Larisa, Jackie, and Latoya come in. They allow Darren to hypnotize them. They all do it for different reasons. Once hypnotized they all react and respond in different ways. The one thing they all have in common is unabashed uninhibited sexual freedom, and It could be their downfall.

This story really had me thinking, having read the book I know the reasons behind the decisions that were made. That being said I still don't think I could have let someone completely takeover my mind and turn me into a sex slave. The characters are strong, and I can understand some of their motivations.  It proves that it's human nature to dare anything for what you believe in .

The sex scenes were well written, and the story was intriguing  with enough mystery that I didn't put it down until I was finished. I liked the author's voice, and I would definitely read another book written by him.

If you like hot sex, mystery, and intrigue I would recommend you pick up Redemption For The Hypnotist.

EXCERPT:

Latoya filled both glasses and handed one to Darren, letting her fingers linger over his. "Music? Would you like R&B or Jazz?"

"No rock 'n roll?" he teased.

"Nope, sorry," she laughed as she swayed over to her stereo.

Darren snapped his fingers, "Damn, nothing more romantic than Foreigner 4."

Latoya gave him a puzzled look and asked, "Urgent or Woman in Black?"

"Woman in Black, of course. But I'm surprised you know the album."

She started the music, a smooth jazz saxophone, and sauntered back towards him. "There are a lot of things you don't know about me." She stroked his face provocatively, rolled her body around, pressing her back against his chest and said, "I'm a very deep woman."

"And you'll go deeper," he chuckled.

Latoya paused briefly, her mind starting to slide into trance at the reference. But she recognized the sensation and shook it off.
She playfully slapped his cheek, "Naughty boy!" She pushed away, her butt pressing firmly against his loins. "Save that for later," strutting back to the kitchen area.

Darren followed her, enjoying the sight of her sensually swaying hips. She posed for him at the refrigerator; her stance highlighting her lovely figure. She opened the door and when she leaned in, she bent slowly at the hips, maintaining the sexy image. She straightened up holding a bag of baby carrots and a bunch of asparagus. "Just going to stand there gawking?" she playfully chided. "Or are you going to help a lady with the cooking?"

Darren backed up a little, unable to remember the last time he tried to prepare anything more fancy than a broiled steak. "I, ah, can't cook."

"You're kidding?"

Darren shrugged, "I live alone. I buy prepared meals or take-out."

"Every night? That's awful." She dumped the vegetables on the counter and pulled a large chopping knife from a drawer. "That's no way for anyone to live. Okay, wash your hands. Tonight you learn to cook."

Darren hesitated. She brandished the carving knife in his direction. "Tonight, lover," she said with a gleam in her eye," you learn to cook."

Darren set down the wine and threw up his hands. "Okay you got me. I never argue with a woman holding a sharp knife." Latoya set the knife down and laughed as he went to the sink.

Book Blurb Blast & Giveaway: The Soul Within by. Nancy Adams

BLURB

Alex’s body is in a coma. His soul, however, is not. Desperate to become whole, he must first convince stubborn beauty Evening Sinclair that he is not dead.

For generations, the Sinclairs have been healers. Using a gentle touch to heal the body and a soothing word to heal the soul, Evening Sinclair is no different. Yet despite her secret abilities, Eve has a somewhat normal existence. She enjoys her small physiotherapy practice, dotes on her eight-year-old daughter and occasionally helps souls get back into their bodies-that is until Alex, with his brooding good looks and glowing eyes, appears in her kitchen.

Alex is desperate to get back into his body-two innocent lives depend on it. His only obstacle is Eve and her stubborn fear. Unfortunately for Eve, Alex is ruthless and just as stubborn. He will do whatever it takes to get what he wants. He will not 'go away' and no matter how much Eve tortures him with her lush body and perfect mouth, he will not change his mind. Eve will merge him, and if it takes him haunting her day and night, she will merge him back with a body-any body.

“I can feel you touch me.” Alex raised his head, a half smile on his face.

Her eyes met his. “You do?”

He nodded. “Again.”

This time, she started at his shoulders and ran her hands down the entire length of his arms to his hands, where she made an attempt to clasp them in her own.

 “How are you doing this?”

“I don’t know? How can you feel me?”

He chuckled. “I don’t know?”

Staring down at their hands she asked. “What do you feel?”

“It’s like when your foot falls asleep and you get that ‘pins and needles’ sensation, mixed with a warm tingling.”

Eve met Alex’s stare. “You’re really not dead.”

He studied her intently. “Is that why you won’t help me, because you think I’m dead?”

Embarrassed, she turned away. “I thought you might be and that you were having trouble…moving on.”

“Moving on?” he repeated. She heard him exhale in a huff but didn’t want to face him yet. “Eve?” He used her name to get her attention but she didn’t budge. “Evening.” This time her name was said with more force.

Her cheeks were warm when she faced him. She expected him to be annoyed but he only showed concern. “Do you see the dead too?”

“No. Never, just medians. My mother did, I thought maybe it had started for me too. It was the only explanation I could come up with as to why you were still hanging around me.” Her throat felt like it was beginning to close up with the thought of it, but she asked him anyway. “Have you seen…them…out there?”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Nancy’s addiction for a good trash novel began in her late-teens when her grandmother gave her a bag of Harlequin Romance books. She was hooked and spent the next few years lurking in the dark corners of used bookstores searching for her next fix. Until, one marriage and two kids later, her own ideas had her jumping up at 3 am (much to her husband’s annoyance) and typing them into her laptop. Beside her husband and children, Nancy has three passions, rearranging furniture, buying bed linens and, of course, writing. Nancy lives in Eastern Ontario with her family and two over sized lap dogs.

Elinor stood in the kitchen head cocked, and listened for another...scream? The sound cut off midstream. All was quiet upstairs.
“Nora, Nora, Nora!" Her friend, Lucy, hurried down the stairs and skidded to a halt in the doorway. Hand to her chest and wild-eyed, she gasped to catch her breath. "I've just seen a ghost!" Arms stretched out, she repeated, “Ghost!” Wild flipping hand motions accompanied the declaration, as if the gesture helped define the word.
"I suppose you think that's funny, screaming like that. I was about to run upstairs. I thought you'd hurt yourself."
"I'm not trying to be funny. I did see a ghost, a knight-like ghost...a Galahad-Lancelot ghost. Cross my heart and hope to die, if you'll pardon the expression. At least it looked like a ghost.” She peered warily over her shoulder. “Oh, I don't know. It happened so fast."
Elinor looked too and saw nothing unusual. “Show me.”
She followed Lucy up the dark oak staircase. Lucy twitched with every creak of the steps as they went. At the top, she paused. Elinor urged her forward and both women moved to the center of the small hallway.
“Where was this ghost, because, I don’t see a thing,” Elinor asked. Under her breath, she said, “I never do,” as Lucy went to the door of the master bedroom and stopped.
She huddled next to Elinor in the doorway and peered around.
“Go on, I’m right here,” Elinor told her.
Lucy took a few tentative steps into room. She stood by the window which gave her a view of the bathroom too.
Elinor leaned against the doorjamb. “Well? Seems like a big nothing so far, no cold spots, no weird lights, no ectoplasmic figures.”
As far back as she could remember Elinor was fascinated by spirits and karma. How many places had she stayed hoping to see a ghost and didn’t? The Mermaid Inn in Rye, the Angel and Royal Hotel in Grantham, the Witchery in Edinburgh, all disappointed her. And now, her avowed non-believer friend claimed one appeared to her in Elinor's own home.
“I don’t know,” Lucy said at last and glanced around the room again. “I’m not sure what I saw.”
“Did you see a ghost or not?” Elinor asked, unsure if she wanted Lucy, the cynic, to say yes.
A gust of wind ruffled the sheer curtain behind Lucy, the hem brushing her elbow. She screamed and bolted past Elinor, down the stairs.
“It’s only the breeze,” Elinor called after her, but Lucy continued her dash for the kitchen.
Unafraid, Elinor walked around the bedroom. She dragged her hands over the newly plastered walls as she circled the room. It had needed a brighter and fresher look. The paint and repair work on the house was one of the first things she did after inheriting the manor.
Elinor checked the bathroom and second bedroom. Like her bedroom, everything seemed normal. At the top of the stairs, goose bumps suddenly dotted her skin and the hair on her arms stood end. Weird. She glanced back, but didn’t see anything strange, or more to the point, Lucy’s ghost. She shrugged and continued down.
