VBT: EXCERPT TOUR & GIVEAWAY - THE LAST KEEPER'S DAUGHTER BY REBECCA TROGNER

THE LAST KEEPER'S DAUHTER
BY
REBECCA TROGNER

BLURB:

Born into old money, Lily Ayres lives at Waverly, her family’s estate situated at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Paris, Virginia.  She is a strange, small, almost mute, young woman who has no idea that her father has given her to the Vampire King Krieger.  Walter Ayres is the King’s Keeper and part of a secret society of historians who unearth, preserve, and attempt to understand relics of long forgotten civilizations.

Lily has never felt comfortable in the human world, but after she suspiciously falls down a flight of stone steps, and is healed and claimed by Krieger, she realizes there is another world.  In this Other Realm she feels a sense of belonging, and begins to untwine the mysterious event which left her mentally and psychologically damaged.  When Walter disappears in England, Lily works with human and supernatural beings to uncover his whereabouts.  With each new discovery, she is pulled deeper into the vortex of magic, intrigue, and dark desires that permeates the supernatural world.  The revelations revealed unfold a story of deception and betrayal that threaten to tear the thin veil between the supernatural and human world asunder.

EXCERPT:

“Your body is still adjusting.”

She closed her eyes, listening to his voice. It vibrated through her body in ways nothing else ever had. She felt joined to him emotionally. Should I doubt my lack of doubt? Her answer was no, and she opened her eyes to embrace a new chance at life.

“Wine,” Krieger ordered.

“I don’t drink,” she whispered.

He cocked his eyebrow at her, saying without ever speaking a word, “really.”

Lily marveled at how easy it was to interact with him. She knew exactly what his expression meant, and effortlessly responded to it. “I was nervous at the event. I don’t like the alcohol taste. It burns my throat.”

Krieger nodded. “Tell Liam what you’d like to drink, then.”

She peered at the refrigerator; the clear glass front let her see what was inside. “Juice, pomegranate.”

There was a fluidity of motion to Liam’s body. He was very male, broad shoulders, arms the width of her thighs, hands the size of plates, and yet he didn’t seem tethered to the gravity of earth. He wasn’t slow, burdened down by his musculature, but instead nimble and quick. Something as mundane as pouring a glass of juice and placing it on the table became a type of performance art. Lily mouthed thank you to him.

She turned to find Krieger watching her, as intently as she’d been watching Liam.

“Liam is charged with your personal protection. He is a Vantor,” Krieger explained.

VBT: Book Spotlight, Excerpt, & Giveaway - WOUNDED ANGEL BY. STACY GAIL

*WOUNDED ANGEL*
BY
*STACY GAIL*

BLURB:

Book three in The Earth Angels

A descendant of the Angel of Vengeance, Nate da Luca was gifted with an uncanny ability to find things. It made his job as a detective a breeze—until he learned the hard way that some things should remain hidden. After that, his powers vanished, along with his belief in himself. Which is going to make tracking down Gabriella Littlefield for his latest client a challenge.

Personal trainer Ella Little paid a hefty price for her life—now all she wants is to live it in peace. Then a sexy hulk of a man turns up in her gym, reigniting desires she thought she'd left behind along with her real name and hair color.

Desires she can't deny even after she discovers Nate's no stranger to her dark past.

Before he can convince her the attraction is mutual, Nate's going to have to earn Ella's trust. But a demon is playing for keeps in the world of humans, using Ella as bait, and the last thing they have is time…

Excerpt:

Without warning his vision went so completely black he thought for a dazed moment the gym’s power had been knocked out. Then a hideous, enervating cold crept like ground fog along his nerves, freezing him from the inside out until he couldn’t move. Couldn’t breathe. Alarm sprinted through him as the disbelieving thought that he might be having a stroke hit him. Then a pale spark glimmered in the darkness, like light reflected on diamonds. His pulse thundered behind his eyes in ever-increasing pain as he focused on that flash until it came into focus—a bright circular light towering impossibly high and reflecting against a glass wall. Was it the moon? Before he could figure it out, movement behind the glass drew him in until he was standing on one side of what seemed to be a giant snow globe, with the faceless giant from his dreams on the other side only an inch or two away.

“Stop.” The voice that emanated from the featureless form reverberated in his head until the throb in his eyes was excruciating. “Stop looking at me, abomination. I can feel you watching me. I know you are there. I’ve always known.”

Abomination. Another word for the Nephilim. Nate had never felt much like an abomination, but he decided not to quibble over semantics.

“Of all things, it is your sight I fear the most. I wonder…if I show myself to you, will I no longer be hidden? Will you become blind to me long enough for me to become complete?”

Complete? What…?

Even as Nate’s short-circuiting brain reeled in confusion, the featureless waxwork lifted its arms, spreading its fingers out wide, and a ragged pulse of urgency hit him so intensely it bordered on panic. Holy crap, he didn’t want to look at those fingers. There was something…not right with them. They were spider-thin and stomach-churning in their length, with extra knuckles evident along the backs.

This is bad, oh shit, this is all sorts of bad…
