Love Beyond Loyalty: The Outsiders Book 3

BLURB:
Gabriel Ward has no problem with the fact that he’s an Outsider. Hell, he’s always known he was different. What he takes issue with is the idea he has to follow any destiny at all. He’s taken care of himself-and others-since birth. There’s no way he has to start following rules now.

Loraine Peacock can speak to animals. Other than that she thinks she’s just a regular woman making her way in the world. She figures its not that weird. Many people have unusual abilities.

But when Gabriel and Loraine are forced together by a destiny he denies and she is ignorant of, they will both finally have to accept their Outsider legacy and help the others in their quest to defeat the ultimate evil—a demon bent on world destruction. That is, if they can both survive to find their way to the most important part of their destiny: love.

REVIEW:

I really enjoyed this book! I have to say Ms. Royce is an excellent storyteller, I only wish I had read the first two books in this series. The characters are excellent, and I just want to know more.

Gabriel Ward is a Outsider, he always knew he was different, and growing up as an orphan on the streets of New Orleans wasn't anything easy. Finding out that he is a Outsider, (a group of 18 children born to keep the balance between good and evil. Chosen by fate to fight along side their soul mate in two pairs) isn't really surprising to him. Gabe could always do things normal humans couldn't. He doesn't exactly want to follow fates plan, but is beginning to believe he doesn't have a choice.

Lorraine Peacock grew up knowing she was different. It's not exactly normal being able to talk to animals. The only people who knew her secret was her grandmother, and her trusted dog Futon. When her dog Futon tells her to quit her teaching job, and go to New Orleans to save Gabriel Ward, she does it. Futon had never lead her astray in the past, and he never lets her down. Lorraine arrives in time to save Gabe, and she can't believe her connection to him. Once Gabe explains to her who he is, and that she is like him, Lorraine realizes that the fate of the world is in their hands. She knows that they are stronger together, and that she's in a whole new world.

Can Lorraine and Gabe save his best friend Alexa, and the world? I definitely encourage you to read Love Beyond Loyalty to find out.

I read this book in one sitting, and I didn't want to put it down. I wanted the story to continue on. I am definitely looking forward to book four. The characters are all very interesting, and I'm not just talking about the hero, and heroine. I enjoyed getting to know about all the characters, and my only regret is that I haven't read the first two books in the series. I did however buy them, and will be reading immediately.

Getting back to this story... I really love the story line, Gabe and Lorraine's characters were very relate able. Even the villain was interesting in a "I can't wait for them to take him out" way. The story flowed together and didn't miss a beat, and I could see everything in my minds eye that they saw. The romance wasn't too fast given the circumstance, and I thought it was very sweet. I loved the plot, and am anxiously awaiting the next book. The story was fast paced, exciting, and at times action packed. Rebecca Royce is now on my auto buy list. I highly recommend this book to all.

About The Author:

As a teenager, I would hide in my room to read my favorite romance novels when I was supposed to be doing my homework. I hope, these days, that my parents think it was worth it.

I am the mother of three adorable boys and I am fortunate to be married to my best friend. We live in northern New Jersey and try not to freeze too badly during the winter
months.

I am in love with science fiction, fantasy, and the paranormal and try to use all of these elements in my writing. I've been told I'm a little bloodthirsty so I hope that when you read my work you'll enjoy the action packed ride that always ends in romance. I love to write series because I love to see characters develop over time and it always makes me happy to see my favorite characters make guest appearances in other books.

In my world anything is possible, anything can happen, and you should suspect that it will.

  2. Great review, Tawania.

Rebecca...Is the whole book set in New orleans? The city has so much ambience--with the heat and humidity and swamps and history and food and characters and the slightly tawdry underbelly. It's such a great city to set a book in.
