Trouble Under Venus

BLURB:

For some love lasts a long time, for others a lifetime. Can theirs outlast space-time? Randi's summer vacation plans? Attending Professor Sudo's Time Travel Academy so she can blast back to 1980 Miami and figure out where her father disappeared to. She's the head of her class until hottie Mitch arrives disguised as a geeky geologist and totally messes up her meditation. Goodbye Soulful in Sedona, hello Yearning in Yoga. So long solo time-travel, hello pushy partner--who happens to be a buff tri-athlete, a sympathetic listener, and an ace FBI agent on a top-secret mission. With his help, she'll conga her way into the Cuban mafia, try not to destroy the delicate fabric of the space-time continuum, dodge a few bullets, and solve The Mystery of the Missing Dad. And maybe fall just a little in love... Content Warning: A new adventure in women's fiction, with a heroine who boldly goes where no chick has gone before, tons of danger and intrigue, a roller-discoing Granny, life and death betrayal, steamy Miami nights and one hot FBI agent.

REVIEW:

Randi is hell bent on trying to figure out what happened to her father whom she has never met, the only way to do that is to go back in time to 1980 which was the last time anyone saw him. Professor Sudo has discovered a way to go back in time thru meditation, electrical chakras and finding a special vortex, but only those that have mastered the art of true meditation will be able to complete their missions and get an opportunity to fulfill their wish. Randi is very hopeful she is going to be one of those people, hopefully hunky male Mitch does not alter her plans.

I was very excited to read this book because I love anything sci-fi and sure enough it did not disappoint. The main part of this book is in Miami, which I am from, and could not help but laugh at the author’s description of certain characters from the 1980’s. I was drawn to its intrigue, could not put it down because I needed to find out what happened next. The chemistry between Randi and Mitch was amazing, the way they teased each other and made each other mad just added to their romance. I like that the author made it a challenge for them to be with one another, knowing that they shouldn’t be together just added that special thrill. It had a lot of twist and turns which I noticed in other books can come off a bit confusing but in this book was written so well you had no problem staying caught up.

If you are looking to read a book with a suspense/mystery/sci-fi genre with some romance added then this one should definitely go on your TBR list. I did get emotional at the end, I noticed the author likes to torture her characters in a good way and does not disappoint in their HEA.
